Created as one of the pavilions for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, this project aims to be more than just a sauna—it is designed to offer entirely new experiential value.

The framework of TAIYO TSUBOMI is an unprecedented piece of 'membrane architecture,' composed solely of a minimal aluminum frame, ETFE film, and air. This soft, membrane-specific design encloses a maximum volume of air with minimal materials, achieving both lightweight portability and exceptional stability and insulation."

"The ETFE units offer immense versatility through various combinations and can be deflated into a compact form for easy relocation and reuse. Three unique structures—a sauna that cocoons heat like a bud, a lounge bathed in light and air, and an open-air cold plunge—set upon a lush green platform to create a profound sauna experience.

「太陽の蕾」の骨組みは、最小限のアルミニウムフレーム、ETFEフィルム、そして空気のみで構成された、前例のない「膜建築」。最小限の資材で最大の空気量を包み込む、膜特有の柔らかなデザイン。軽量でありながら、優れた安定性と断熱性を実現した。
このETFEユニットは、組み合わせ次第で多様な汎用性を発揮すると同時に、空気を抜けばコンパクトに収納できるため、容易に移動や再利用が可能。「蕾のように熱を包み込むサウナ」「光と空気に満たされたラウンジ」「開放的な水風呂」という3つのユニークな棟が、緑豊かなプラットフォームとともに、豊かなサウナ体験を創出する。
